Description
Justitia was once the Roman goddess of Justice. Her origin is also from the Greek Titan Themis, who was once an oracle at Delphi, and became referred to as a goddess of divine justice. Her daughters Dike and Astraea were often referred to as goddesses of justice, but not “divine justice.” There are lots of variations of the way in which Justitia is depicted, but most steadily she is portrayed as carrying the scales of justice in one hand and a sword in the other and with her eyes blindfolded which symbolizes the fair and equal administration of the law without corruption, avarice, prejudice, or favor in the legal systems during the western world.
